‌Skills in Development Education

This participatory course comprises of eight evening modules and a one day practical workshop that aim to equip participants with the skills and methodologies to work effectively with groups on global development and social justice issues in a friendly, informal environment. At the end of the course, participants will be prepared to facilitate at training days and development education workshops.

This course is aimed at returned volunteers (from any organisation) who are either students, staff or graduates of UCD. Participants should have some level of knowledge of global issues or experience of living, working or volunteering in the Global South but facilitation experience is not required.

Course Details for 2018

The course will run from 6:00pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday evenings on the following dates:23rd January,  30th January, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th February, 6th March, Saturday 10th (all day) and 13th March.

The course is organised by UCD Volunteers Overseas in partnership with Comhlámh.

Course content includes workshops in Introduction to Development Education,  Diversity and Anti-discrimination, Trade & Debt, Challenging Images & Messages, Visual Facilitation, Power Structures and Creative Facilitation Methods

Total Fee: €15.00 non-refundable [payable in cash only on the first night]
