In addition to our volunteer programme, there are many ways to engage with UCDVO and the area of global citizenship education including two evening courses. These opportunities are open to those participating in our programme and also to the wider UCD Community - students, staff and alumni and those external to UCD. Both courses are brought to you in partnership with Comhlámh.
Be the Change
- A journey into solidarity and change making
This is a 5-part evening course for those looking to deepen their understanding of solidarity and engage in meaningful action for change. This course takes place in November of each year. Applications for Be the Change 2026 will reopen in Autumn.
Seeding Change
- A journey into climate, people & planet
This 5-part evening course is for those looking to dive deeper into questions of climate and environmental justice and offers a unique space within which to deliberate as part of a campus community. Course begins 4th February 2026.
Solidarity in Action
‘Solidarity in Action’, which took place in 2021, examined critical global citizenship education with the aim of cultivating sustainable activism and deeper examination of the self - and where that 'self' is situated within global structures of inequality - amongst participants.
