UCDVO works in partnership with a number of charities, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations. Currently, partners are in Cambodia, Tanzania and Uganda. UCDVO has built strong relationships in each of the communities and partners over a number of years. We run short term volunteer projects with each project designed in collaboration with our partners based on the needs of the local community. Types of volunteering projects include supporting partner programmes in the areas of health (paediatric disability, nutrition), non formal education, and sustainable livelihoods.
India and South-East Asia
UCDVO has worked in India since the charity was founded in 2003, on a range of community development, education and health programmes with partners in New Delhi, Assam and Meghalaya. In 2024 UCDVO will run a pilot volunteer project in Cambodia with MOEI on education programmes for marginalised communities.
Tanzania
UCDVO has worked in Tanzania since 2009 to support the quality of education for communities in Morogoro District with two Tanzanian organisations, TanzEd and Camara Education Tanzania. In 2023, UCDVO ran a successful pilot health programme with the Holy Union Sisters in Dar es Salaam.
Uganda
UCDVO has worked in partnership with civil society organisations in Uganda for the last decade. In 2025 UCDVO will run volunteer projects in Uganda with partners Nurture Africa (health), Church of Uganda Kisiizi Hospital (health), and plastic up-cycling social enterprise Eco Brixs (sustainability). UCDVO also plans to run a pilot sport in development project - more details to follow.
