UCDVO works in partnership with a number of charities, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations. Currently, our partners are in Cambodia, Tanzania and Uganda. UCDVO has built strong relationships in each of the communities and partners over a number of years. We run short term volunteer projects with each project designed in collaboration with our partners based on the needs of the local community. Types of volunteering projects include supporting partner programmes in the areas of health (paediatric disability, nutrition), non-formal education, and sustainable livelihoods.
Cambodia
In 2024 UCDVO ran its first project in Cambodia - the MOEI Education Project with Experiential Learning Asia. Building on the pilot project, this project ran for a second time in 2025, with UCDVO volunteers providing English language classes to NGO schools in the Siem Reap area, Cambodia. We look forward to continuing this partnership in 2026. UCDVO previously worked in Asia between 2003 and 2019, running volunteer projects with partners in New Delhi, Assam and Meghalaya.
Tanzania
In 2023, UCDVO commenced a partnership with the Holy Union Sisters in Dar es Salaam supporting the paediatric disability day care services in the Matumaini Centre. In 2025, this partnership expanded, with two volunteer projects running with the Holy Union Sisters - the rehabilitation project in the Matumaini Centre, as well as the Cobet Education Project. Both projects will continue in 2026. UCDVO previously worked in Tanzania pre-Covid, with TanzEd and Camara Education in Morogoro District, for 10 years until 2019.
Uganda
UCDVO has worked in partnership with civil society organisations in Uganda for the last decade. In 2026, UCDVO will run volunteer projects in Uganda with partners Nurture Africa (health), Church of Uganda Kisiizi Hospital (health), plastic up-cycling social enterprise Eco Brixs (sustainability), and Simba Wolfhounds (sports in development).
